  Centre for Neuromuscular Disease

LOCATION

The laboratories of the 15 Principal Investigators affiliated with the Centre for Neuromuscular Disease are distributed amongst three buildings of the Ottawa Health Sciences Complex. The three sites, i.e. the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine of the University (CMM), the Ottawa Health Research Institute (OHRI) and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), are all within walking distance with quick and easy access through enclosed walkways. This greatly facilitates therefore the development and establishment of collaborative research projects. Laboratory space occupies more than 20,000 square feet of modern and well equipped individual and common laboratories. Additionally, several Members of the Centre are also Members of the Networks of Centres of Excellence, i.e., the Canadian Genetic Diseases Network and Stem Net. Accordingly, these Members have also access to several core facilities across Canada.
